Turkey is a very popular education center for international students for the last couple years. Syria is the first country which sent the highest number of students. During the academic year 2015-2016, 3746 students came to Turkey. Azerbaijan is placed as a second with its 3233 students was sent. Turkmenistan, who was at the top with Azerbaijan in previous years, is the number three this year. The number of students coming from Turkmenistan is 2472.
