There are both private and public universities in Turkey.

While state universities charge considerably low fees, private universities are much more expensive; their fees reaching at least four digits and foreign students paying two to three times more than Turkish students.
A big number of Universities in Turkey offer great scholarship for international students so even though tution is high student
can be awarded with high scholarship.

Tuition and fees are determined at the beginning of every academic year and also are based on the program’s language.

Undergraduate Programs:

Each university and each faculty has different tution and fees. The correct amounts are best inquired from the university directly, but to give you some overview approximate range from the 2011-2012 academic year is:

State university fees : 190 – 591 TL

Private university fees : 12,000 – 42,000 TL

Fees mentioned above are for Turkish students. Students who come from Turkish Republics and Turkish originated countries (Azerbaijan, Bashkortostan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dagestan, Karachay-Cherkessia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, Mongolia, Moldova, Nahcevan, Uzbekistan, Tadzhikistan, Tatarstan, Turkmenistan, and Ukraine) pay the same fees as Turkish students.
