The highest peak of Turkey is Mount Ararat (Turkish: Ağrı) The massif of Ararat is around 40 km.

The mountains of Ararat have a great significance since it was mentioned in the Great Book of Genesis that Noah’s Ark had it stops after the great flood.

Mount Ararat has actually 2 peaks- one is named Greater Ararat which is 5,137 m and the other one is Lesser Ararat and the height of this one is 3,896 m 🙂
