Today (24th of December) is a day of Christmas Eve! It is the evening or entire day just before Christmas day. In Turkey, Christmas are quite wide spread, due to the influence and fashion of the West. On the streets of Turkish cities you can see colorful lights, decorated Christmas tree, and beautifully decorated shopping malls with Santa Claus who distribute small gifts to children. Also it is said that St. Nicholas was a Turk;) He certainly lived in a city which is now in a region of Turkey in the Antalya – in Myra, current Demre on the Mediterranean Sea. St Nicholas is remembered not only as a famous Turkish archbishop, but also for his kindness to children.
