Eminönü is a former district of Istanbul in Turkey, since 2009 it is included in  neighbourhood of Fatih district due to the fact that the population of Eminönü was quite low.

Eminönü  is the former center of  city of Constantine, rich with history and tradition. The begining of ancient Byzantium started in the area where Eminönü has its place. It is not a surprise it is the main tourist destination in Istanbul:)

The Golden Horn  a natural port with the beautiful Galata Bridge and up on the hill Topkapı Palace, the Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Camii) and Hagia Sophia (Aya Sofya) create a beautiful view that we definitely recommend during day and night time :)

During the daytime the area is full of merchants and their customers, shoppers and many many many tourists. You can find mostly everything what you are looking for in  the Grand Bazaar and Egyptian Spice Bazaar. Also we definitely recommend Balık ekmek  (bread with fish) :) The area is a perfect place to try it for the first time, and second time , and the third!

At night it is a quiet place with a magic atmospehere. Lights and quiet anglers give an extraoridnary impression of fairytaile. And if you happen to be there in the evening the contrast with the daytime is eerie and somewhat menacing.

Eminönü cosists of of the buildings like offices, shops and workshops, there are some few housing as well but not a lot comparing to the other types of buildings. Every day roughly two million people work in or pass through Eminönü, even though district has only 30,000 residents.
